I'm Szilvi, an Ofsted Registered Childminder, originally a Hungarian folk music teacher and musician-singer. I taught in music specialised schools for over 20 years along with being involved in the musical development of young children. In my music sessions, we sing, play instruments, as well as learn singing and music structured games.
This is a wonderful new journey in my life that we will go on together with you.
The early development of children is important, and I believe music plays a significant role in it.
In my childminding setting:
Every day your child will hear stories, songs, rhymes and instruments. We play movement games whilst we sing or listen to music.
Why is music, singing and rhymes important in children's lives?
They will help develop:
- Motor skills
- Listening skills
- Coordination
- Understanding and use of language
- Speech and fluency of speech
- Social skills and self confidence
- Creativity
- Positive relationships
Exercise plays an important part in the development of children. That is why we often take walks on the Slades Farm, on the nearby Talbot Heath or on the Wallisdown Recreation Ground, where we learn about the nature around us alongside getting some fresh air. However if they would prefer to stay, we can also play in the garden, providing many toys and games..
