Hamdi, Nathalie (Pomme D'Api Childcare)

Childminder

Service Description:
Offering a home from home care, I will make sure your child learns through play and fun. Following the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), I will plan activities according to your child's age and abilities. I work with two others members of staff who both have achieved high standards of qualification and experience. This allows us flexibility with some of our parents work commitments and therefore can offer flexible hours. We strongly believe that children should participate actively in the day to day running of the setting. Therefore, we favour child led activities and we have a very strong partnership with parents. Children should have a voice and be heard and by giving them the opportunity to participate actively in the planning, they can thrive and learn more positively. We want them to explore and be hands on with outdoors activities. Having a lot of children with English as additional language, we are lucky to be involving parents with events and celebrate lots of different festivals. I also offer private termly appointments where we can discuss and look at your child's progress together. We go on lots of outdoor activities like walks and visits to the library or parks, forest and other venues. I have gained a level 5 Foundation degree with the Open university in 2013 and am currently working towards my BA in childcare. We keep up to date with changes in legislation and with changes in childcare and safeguarding. I was nominated childminder of the year in 2014, my two assistants are very keen in doing more courses to broaden their knowledge. We are now also using reusable nappies and are trying to gain a green setting certificate. Children enjoy being part of recycling and 'save the planet'. Please call us or email us to organise a visit and meet.
