Hello, I am Katy Jepson of Amethyst Childcare, located on Somerford Estate in Christchurch. As a dedicated childminder, I aim to create a nurturing environment that fosters a love for learning through play and socialising with others. We regularly venture out to playgroups, other childminders settings, the beach, park, local shops, the library and further afield such as the New Forest, farms and the Oceanarium if circumstances allow. I maintain regular communication with you, sharing photos and updates of your child's progress. I hold up to date certifications in safeguarding, food hygiene, and first aid and continue to add to my professional development through ongoing childcare training. My first inspection earned a 'good' grade. Through a strong connection with local childminders I enhance your child's social experiences as we provide a supportive network for shared activities. My open-plan home provides a good sized indoor play area, complemented by a large garden with separate secure playground. Our friendly dogs and cat add joy to the environment, creating memorable interactions for the children (although dogs are kept in another room during childminding hours). Our daily activities align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), covering holistic play, games, and socialising with a focus on language and communication development. My hourly rate covers all trips to local playgroups and a hot lunch (if a child has allergies their own food may need to be provided), morning and afternoon snacks which the children sit down to enjoy together. Late pick up charges are detailed in my policies, all of which are available on request. There is an additional £12 supplement added to each monthly invoice to cover further outings and replenishment of quality learning resources and activities for the setting.
